There have been reports online that Elegushi has stepped down for Obanikoro on the orders of the Governing Advisory Council of the APC in Lagos state.

Elegushi has however denied the report in a series of tweets he posted on his Twitter page on Wednesday.

Replying to a tweet by an online newspaper, Premium Times, Elegushi said he has not stepped down and the quoted statement purportedly signed by one Tobi Etti is false.

He said, “Premium Times, I will advise that you please take this down. I am yet to make any statement regarding my candidacy for the seat of the member Federal House of Representative Eti-Osa Constituency. I don’t know where you got this information from.

“I don’t have any spokesman with the name TOBI ETTI. I’m still in Consultation with the Party leadership and any decision I make will be made public by me and will be in the interest of the people of Eti-Osa Constituency and my party the All Progressives Congress.
