The Anambra state government has demolished the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry owned by celebrity pastor, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere alias ‘Odumeje’.
In a viral video on social media, some officials donning uniforms with inscriptions of “Anambra state task force” were seen slapping the cleric.
The church’s demolition is borne out of the Onitsha urban renewal plan launched by the state’s governor, Charles Soludo.
The structure was said to be erected along the Nwagene stream and had to be removed for the actualisation of the Onitsha Urban Renewal Plan.
The video of the pastor being assaulted has sparked reactions from Nigerians on social media.
See some reactions below:
Odumeje Indaboski wasn’t armed or was he dragging with the officers, so why were they brutalizing him? Why?
Whether one commits a crime or not, certain rights are still intact that a prosecutor must respect!!!
Odumeje should sue for that assault!

The fact that you don’t like someone doesn’t mean you should be happy when there’s injustice against them.
I can see some folks defending the maltreatment of Pastor Odumeje by the Anambra state government.

What Soludo's Task Force did to Odumeje is distasteful, barbaric, and condemnable

Manhandling Odumeje like a common criminal after demolishing his church building is totally wrong!
What is going on in this country?
Why do authorities get so intoxicated with power to the point of dehumanizing someone.— Delegate Onyema ???????? ???????? ???????? (@OnyiiKaluUmex) July 7, 2022
Demolish his church if it's been marked for demolition and Odumeje has been fully informed but you don't beat him like he's a common criminal.
Soludo must do something about the way his task force treated and manhandled Odumeje.
IT'S WRONG!!!!

What policemen did to Odumeje is totally unacceptable. It should be condemned by everyone.

That assault on Odumeje is wrong, terribly wrong. Brutality of State forces with guns against civilians is sad, dehumanising and a huge shame to all state forces who engage in it. I hope he presses charges and sees it through to the end. That video is sad and I'm not even a fan.

I have no issue with the church demolition but what those security agents did to Odumeje is totally unacceptable.

That guy that first slapped Odumeje, if he keeps his gun down and goes fist to fist, he may not bring Odumeje down.
I don't know why these individuals always feel like gods cos they have state backed guns. Why slap someone? Was he under arrest and resisted?
