Former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, is grieving the loss of his mother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha, who passed away on April 20, 2023.
In a statement released by the former governor, Dame Dorothy was 90 years old at the time of her passing and is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The statement reads, “After a fruitful and eventful life filled with God’s abundant mercies and grace, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha (née Okereke) peacefully transited to eternity on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Abuja, with her family by her side.”
Dame Dorothy celebrated her 90th birthday on August 28, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
The Ihedioha family expressed gratitude for the support and compassion they have received from friends and well-wishers, particularly during Dame Dorothy’s final days. They request continued prayers for the family during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements for Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha will be announced in due course, as the family navigates this period of mourning and loss.
