Omoyole Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for his recent apology to Nigerians as his administration comes to a close.
On Friday, President Buhari asked for forgiveness from the citizens, particularly those he may have hurt while carrying out his duties.
In response to Buhari’s apology, Sowore took to his official Twitter account on Saturday to claim that the president may never be forgiven. Sowore argued that Buhari did not only hurt Nigerians but also humiliated them with unfavorable policies throughout his time in office.
According to Sowore, the opportunities President Buhari “crushed will continue to hunt and haunt” him for the rest of his life. He accused Buhari of denying Nigerians a decent life and preventing people of all ages from living and thriving.
Sowore also accused the president of destroying businesses, taking innocent lives, damaging the educational sector, and depriving the sick and infirm of adequate healthcare. Furthermore, he claimed that Buhari unjustly detained and imprisoned many citizens, encouraged violence, and created division through religious bigotry and ethnicity.
Lastly, Sowore accused President Buhari, his family members, and his political associates of perpetrating untold corruption during his administration.
