This move comes after Senate President Godswill Akpabio read a letter from President Tinubu during a session held on Tuesday, formally requesting the confirmation of these ministerial nominees.
The three distinguished individuals under scrutiny during this session are Mr. Balarabe Abbas Lawal, representing Kaduna State; Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, hailing from Kwara State; and Mr. Ayodele Olawande, who hails from Ondo State.

This development follows closely on the heels of the Senate’s previous exercise in August 2023, where they screened and confirmed 45 ministerial nominees, while three others faced rejection.
Among the rejected nominees was the former Kaduna State Governor, Mr. Nasir El-Rufai, whose nomination sparked considerable debate and discussion within the Senate chamber.
In addition to Mr. El-Rufai, the Senate rejected the nominations of Stella Okotete, who represented Delta State, and Abubakar Danladi, hailing from Taraba State.
