Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has described the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State as a pivotal moment for Nigerians to channel their dissatisfaction and frustrations into driving meaningful change. He encouraged the people of Ondo State to come out en masse on Saturday to demonstrate their commitment to good governance by casting their votes.

In a newsletter titled “It’s Time to Make a Bold Statement,” released on Thursday night, Makinde urged supporters of good governance to rally behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), highlighting the party’s track record in addressing Nigeria’s challenges. According to him, the PDP remains the best option to steer the country out of its economic hardships.

“Let me begin by encouraging everyone in Ondo State to come out this Saturday and make a bold statement in the Ondo State elections. Let all supporters of good governance stand up and say enough of the APC and its lack of people-centred policies. It is time for Nigerians to rally behind the PDP as the party that can help Nigeria overcome the economic challenges it faces,” Makinde stated.

The governor highlighted the developmental strides achieved in PDP-led states as evidence of the party’s capabilities and commitment to progress. “I want to remind you that Ondo State is a litmus test for Nigerians to show that their hunger and anger can bring about real change. Tell everyone you know that the PDP is the party that can rescue Nigeria,” he said.

Makinde further pointed to efforts by PDP governors to uplift their people, citing his own presentation of a “Budget of Economic Stabilisation” in Oyo State as an example of putting people first. He emphasized ongoing infrastructure, education, and economic initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ lives.

“In conclusion, economically, we look forward to better times in 2025. We just have to keep pushing and making the right decisions in the overall interest of our people and our nation,” Makinde concluded.
