Geely Auto International has partnered with Coscharis Motors, making it the third Nigerian indigenous company to collaborate with the global automotive giant since its entry into the Nigerian market. This strategic alliance follows previous partnerships with Hyra Motors and Mikano Motors and underscores Geely’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the country.
The partnership was unveiled at the Coscharis assembly plant in Lagos, where Scofield Wu, Head of Geely Auto International Middle East/Africa Business Unit, lauded Coscharis Motors as a trusted partner with deep roots in the Nigerian automotive industry.
“We have carefully reselected our representative in Nigeria because we seek a partner with a strong pedigree in the automotive sector who can deliver our brand promise,” Wu stated. “Coscharis Motors shares our belief that Geely models are the perfect fit for budget-conscious customers who require durable, reliable, and technologically advanced automobiles with excellent aftersales service.”
Coscharis Motors Enthusiastic About Partnership
Dr. Cosmas Maduka, President/CEO of Coscharis Group, expressed his excitement over the collaboration, emphasizing its alignment with the company’s vision of delivering value to stakeholders.
“This partnership is a testament to the confidence Geely Auto International has in Coscharis Motors. It marks another milestone in our journey to remain relevant and timeless,” Maduka said.
Maduka highlighted that the Geely Auto brand offers reliable and refined vehicles, particularly suited to Nigeria’s economically challenging times. The newly introduced models, including the All New Starry and GX3 Pro, are touted as game-changers for their affordability and advanced features.
“These vehicles will cater to both individual customers and organizations, especially government and corporate bodies looking for cost-effective options for their fleets and middle-management teams,” Maduka added.
Coscharis Motors also announced the re-launch of the New Geely Coolray and Emgrand, alongside plans to introduce additional cutting-edge models to the Nigerian market.
Government and Industry Leaders Commend Partnership
The event was attended by members of the House Committee on Industry, led by Dr. Enitan Badru, and representatives of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC). Speaking at the ceremony, NADDC’s Director of Research and Development, Dr. Francis Achiv, commended both companies for their collaboration, which he said would contribute to Nigeria’s automotive development.
The partnership is expected to provide Nigerians with access to budget-friendly vehicles while promoting local economic growth and job creation in the automotive sector.
Bridging the Gap Between Luxury and Affordability
According to Coscharis Motors, Geely Auto’s presence in Nigeria will bridge the gap between luxury and budget car brands, offering quality vehicles tailored to the needs of Nigerian consumers.
“The Geely brand is exactly what is needed today,” Maduka said. “It provides an affordable, capable, and refined option, offering exceptional value to customers.”
