Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed Hon. Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The appointment was confirmed on Monday in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honour Sirawoo.
“His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, has approved the appointment of Hon Benibo Anabraba as Secretary to the Rivers State Government,” the statement read.
Anabraba is expected to be officially sworn in today, Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 pm inside the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.
This appointment comes amid renewed political activity in the state, and Anabraba’s elevation is seen as a strategic move by the governor in consolidating his team.
