Australian Wildfires: Actor Chris Hemsworth Makes $1 Million Donation

Thor himself has contributed his quota to save a part of humanity, showing support for the race that gave him shelter in his time of exile.

Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth pledged a donation of $1 million and made the announcement on Twitter today Tuesday, January 7, 2020, calling on others to do the same.

In the video clip which the movie star shared, he talked about the catastrophic effects of the wildfires and beckoned on others to follow his lead, finally thanking everyone who has sent have shown support in one way or another.

He said:

I’m going to put forward a million dollars and was hoping you can contribute in any shape or form. That money goes directly to the firefighters, the people on the front lines, the people who have suffered, the communities that have taken a hit and who are in desperate need of our support.

Beyond appreciative to everyone around the world for their well wishes and donations. It really does make a difference, so dig deep! Love ya.

It’s so good to know that the towering star has a heart gold and is willing to give to causes like these. The noble gesture should spur others to do the same.

The fires have continued their destructive path since September 2019, resulting in at least 24 casualties and rendering thousands homeless.

The location most affected by the disaster is New South Wales, a territory located in the Southeastern area of Australia.
