Burna Boy has lost the Best Male International at BRIT award 2020 to Grammy-winning American rapper Tyler the creator on February 19, 2020.
On January 11, 2020, according to reports, the Nigerian singer was nominated alongside Americans singers, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone. This comes after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received from his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant.
On the award night, Burna Boy performed songs like Stormzy‘s ‘Own It’ and especially aced his performance of, ‘Anybody’.
The BRIT Awards 2020 is the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the third year running. Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.
Big winners of the night were Santan Dave, British-born rapper of Nigerian descent who took home the gong for Album of The Year. Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy and Billie Eilish.
