US-based Nigerian singer and rapper Speed Darlington claims that Dino Melaye did not get his money from just being a senator, that there is more to his wealth.
The singer is known for always causing traffic on social media either by slamming Tunde Ednut for insulting him and threatening to deport him or the time he entered a bike he did not pay and ran away claiming policemen took all his money.
This time he posted on his page with a picture of a Nigerian politician, a senator who was a member of the 9th National Assembly, representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Dino Melaye saying;
Oh my God look at one man’s wealth and all he had to do was be an Nigeria senator. Good thing he did not win governorship they broke his leg during that election, no one man should have this much wealth and his only job was to be a senator ??
According to a report he has not denied, Dino Melaye was alleged to continue to operate checking and savings account with a US bank, in violation of Nigeria law.
Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau prohibits the use of foreign accounts by elected and public officials.
On 24 July 2018, Melaye alongside 13 other Senators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, In Abuja on 5 January.
