INEC Declares APC's Yahaya Bello Winner Of Kogi Gov. Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared APC’s governorship candidate, Yahaya Bello, as winner of the governorship election in the state.

INEC’s Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, declared the APC candidate the winner of the election on Monday.

The incumbent governor pulled 406,222, PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada pulled 189,704 votes while SDP’s Natasha Akpoti pulled 9,482.

The party agent of the Peoples Democratic Party however refused to sign the final results declared by INEC.

During the collation of the results from the state’s capital, Lokoja local government area, also, the result was cancelled in three registration areas and 16 polling units over destruction of electoral materials, snatching of ballot boxes, over-voting and intimidation of voters.
