The Federal Government has hinted on plans for the reopening of schools in the country by July 13 2020, odunews.com reports.

It would however be reopened in phases with universities final year student, SS3 students and primary school pupils billed to be among the first to resume.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential on , stated that this was meant to enable final year, SSCE and Primary Six students take their exams.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during the daily COVID-19 briefing in .

“This decision is imperative as these people that fall under this category will be able to take their exams so as to take a step ahead,” Mustapha said.

The Task Force Committee said it was working in systematic and fact based way to ensure all its decision making was informed by the best public health data and global best practices that ensure safe re-opening.

Further the consultations to various stakeholders have already started and additionally consultations on memorandum of understanding have been dispatched to various learning institutions and other sectors for their views on the safe re opening their various contents.

Schools will however be re-opened for all students later when the Federal Government is convinced they the lives of the students will be safe while at school.
