BREAKING: DSS Finally Frees Sowore After 126 Days Of Detention
Omoyele Sowore released from DSS custody

Omoyele Sowore, the convener of RevolutionNow has been freed from the DSS custody on Thursday, December 5, 2019, after 126 days in detention.

Below is a statement issued by Sowore’s Take It Back Movement:

Today, after 126 days of resistance against the forces of oppression, the machinations of the Department of State Security Services, and following considerable pressure from local and international media platforms led by the Take it Back Movement, Omoyele Sowore has been released on bail after his illegal abduction by the DSS in the early hours of the 3rd August, 2019.

Tonight, we celebrate with our teeming supporters worldwide and thank everyone who contributed their time and resources to the efforts to free Sowore. The war is, however, far from over. The baseless charges must be thrown out of court in its entirety, and the Buhari regime must begin to live up to the expectations of a government worthy to lead the strongest, most populous African nation.

To the general public, we say that the war is not over. We have all seen first-hand this regime’s mal-intent towards its people. The human rights of the ordinary Nigerians are trampled upon daily, under the orders of a government that is only interested in punishing its citizens for making the mistake of voting it into power.

The struggle continues. And victory must assuredly be ours.

Dr. Joshua Adeoye
Director General
Take it Back Movement
