Emir of Zazzau Is Dead

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, is dead.

He died at the age of 84 on Sunday morning.

“It is confirmed. He had some health issues on Friday and was taken to the hospital where he died. His body would soon be transported to Zaria for burial,” said a family source.

The monarch spent 45 years on the throne having ascended to the throne in 1975 at the age of 36.
