A 101-year old man in Italy has survived the deadly coronavirus.
The man who many call Mr. P was released from the hospital a few days ago after making a full recovery.
CNN reported that Mr. P is the oldest person to survive the virus which is beloved to be fatal in elderly people.
Gloria Lisi, the Deputy Mayor of Rimini, Italy described Mr. P’s recovery as ‘extraordinary’.
“The family brought him home yesterday evening. To teach us that even at 101 years, the future is not written.”
Nearly 86% of casualties in Italy have been those who are above the age of 70. This makes Mr. P’s recovery all the more amazing.
He is not the only aged person to survive the virus as a 97-year-old woman in South Korea was also recently discharged from the hospital.
