According to Worldometer, which provides updates on the pandemic, 734,239 fatalities have been recorded so far globally.

The tally of recoveries worldwide is currently 12,909,733.

Meanwhile Brazil joined the United States as the only nations to surpass 100,000 deaths and more than 3 million cases in a coronavirus pandemic that passed 730,000 fatalities and neared 20 million cases worldwide.

The death toll stood at 734,239 according to tracking by Worldometers.info, more than seven months after the first cases were announced in Wuhan, China, on Dec. 31.

The first death was reported on Jan. 11 and the toll is now at 731,147.
