Nigerian comedian and actor AY Makun has signed a deal with the Huawen Movie Group in China for his next movie 30 Days in China.
The company is a leading movie group and AY’s collaboration with them makes it the first joint effort between the Chinese film industry and Nollywood.
AY who was recently in China revealed that he sat with executives of the Huahua Media (a parent company of the Huawen Movie Group) in a meeting and they discussed the way forward for Nollywood.
The comic actor was accompanied by Moses Babatope from Filmone Entertainment and Mr. Wong, Chairman Huahua Media.
Speaking with CNN Africa, Babatope stated that the deal with the Chinese would open up Nollywood to the Chinese cinema audience and create higher-quality movies.
