Disney’s streaming service Disney Plus went live in three countries today with new episodes of original series The Mandalorian set to be available in a few days.
The new direct-to-consumer service was launched in the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands. Company Chief Bob Iger called it “a historic moment for our company that marks a new era of innovation and creativity.”
Content to be made available for viewers include existing Disney, Marvel, National Geographic, Pixar, and Star Wars movies and series.
About 500 movies and 7,500 episodes of TV content can be enjoyed, as well as 30 seasons of The Simpsons.
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the first order. It depicts the journey of a lone gunfighter in the far reaches of outer space.
