The blood-drinking Count is up to no good in the official trailer for BBC One and Netflix’s upcoming horror series Dracula.
The series will delve a little deeper into the origins of the famous first vampire and his most heinous crimes will also be seen.
The official trailer is even scarier than the teaser and the Count himself says that he will drink his fill. That portends inevitable doom for those involved as we can safely assume that those words are not idle threats.
The series draws inspiration from the classic Bram Stoker novel and actor Claes Bang (who plays the titular character) expressed how thrilled he was to play the famous vampire.
Bang said that even though Dracula was evil, there was more to him and that he was also charismatic and sexy and that he was privileged to play the part.
I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Dracula, especially when the script is in the hands of the incredible talents of Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and the team responsible for Sherlock. I’m so excited that I get to dig into this iconic and super-interesting character. Yes, he’s evil, but there’s also so much more to him, he’s charismatic, intelligent, witty and sexy. I realize that there’s a lot to live up to with all the amazing people that have played him over the years, but I feel so privileged, to be taking on this incredible character.Claes Bang – geektyrant.com
Dracula will be made available for streaming on BBC One and Netflix on January 1, 2020.
