Yul Edochie who turned politician is a Nigerian actor, named after popular Russian actor Yul Brynner, advises Nigerians to change the way they think as people.
He made it known as he recounted how no one celebrated his life after he survived a terrible accident. According to him, the case would have been the opposite if he had died.
In a tweet he wrote;
“I survived a terrible accident & nobody came to celebrate my life.
If I had died many asoebi groups would turn up to celebrate my life, fake love everywhere, someone will even choose to buy a 10million naira casket to bury me.
We must change the way we reason as a people”.
In a post, he also revealed that he doesn’t understand the idea behind spending a lot just to hold a burial ceremony.
He also shared how a friend of his took a loan just so he could hold an expensive burial ceremony, also faulted how family members neglect an individual when he’s alive but bring out huge money for the person’s burial.
He wrote
I don’t understand the concept of spending so much money on burials. Total waste to me! A person’s life should be celebrated when he or she is alive to join in the celebration not in death. Some1 once asked me for a loan of some millions to use & bury his father. I was speechless.
“Celebrate people when they are alive make dem follow enjoy the groove. Some family members will not even assist you when you need financial help, till the person dies, then they’ll budget 20million naira for your burial, invite all their friends from abroad and all the dignitaries they know just to show off.
THE THUNDER…..”
