Shazam actor Zachary Levi is set to star in Prisoner 760, a true-life drama about the story of a man imprisoned by the United States government for years without trial.
Levi rose to prominence playing Chuck Bartowski in the series Chuck, achieving critical acclaim before going on to star in several high-profile movies, including DC’s Shazam (2019).
THR confirms that the actor will portray Neil Buckland, a federal agent, and friend to one of the people who help Mohamedou Ould Slahi, the man held by the US government.
Prisoner 760 is adapted from the New York Times bestselling memoir Guantanamo Diary written by Slahi himself during the period of his incarceration and will be directed by Kevin Macdonald.
Hollywood actresses Jodie Foster and Shailene Woodley have also been cast and they will take on the roles of the defense attorneys who represent Slahi. They are helped by Lt. Stuart Couch (Benedict Cumberbatch).
Prisoner 760 release date hasn’t been revealed but it will arrive ahead of Levi’s upcoming project Shazam 2 which is slated for April 1, 2022.
