Hollywood action megastar Tom Cruise returns to play the character that cemented his status as a bonafide action star.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Top Gun: Maverick is an upcoming action drama which is a sequel to the hit 1986 film helmed by Tony Scott.
Top Gun got mixed reviews but ended up becoming a box office success, making $356 million against a budget of only $15 million. Critics praised it for its action, effects, aerial stunts, and Tom Cruise’s performance.
Top Gun: Maverick will see Cruise reprise his role as the heroic flight instructor Captain Pete Mitchell alongside Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Val Kilmer, and Glen Powell.
In the teaser poster, Tom Cruise’s character leans against a World War II plane while looking up into the sky at two fighter jets speeding past.
