The first trailer for the much-anticipated Wonder Woman 1984 has been released and it showcases some upgrades on her costume and a major reunion.
Wonder Woman 1984 will see the superhero in the aforementioned year as she encounters a new villain called Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and somehow the dead Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) returns.
The trailer opens with a voice-over from Wonder Woman herself (Gal Gadot) and then goes on to show that she’s having what seems to be an interview of some sort with Barbara Ann Minerva (who becomes Cheetah).
Diana Prince is happy when she reunites with her love Steve Trevor but it seems another individual will have a powerful impact in shaping the events of the movie as well. This person is Maxwell Lord (The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal), a businessman who appears to be far more than he seems.
Things get into high gear when Wonder Woman returns to action; her high heels only add to her Femme Fatale status and at some point, even Steve is awed by her amazing abilities.
Towards the end of the clip, we see Diana in a totally new battle armor that appears to have detachable wings (how cool is that!).
It appears we will get all the things that made the first movie spectacular, only this time the producers have upped the ante. This is good as it is expected that the heroine will face bigger odds this time around.
Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in the United States on June 5, 2020. See the trailer below:
