A Quiet Place was released in 2018 and it became an unexpected hit, making $340 million on a budget of just $21 million.
It told the story of the Abbott family who find themselves in a world where humans are haunted by creatures who rely on sound to get their prey.
Real-life couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski played the man and wife who battle to survive, leading the husband having to sacrifice himself so his family can live.
What made A Quiet Place work was the fact that even though the movie was predominantly silent, you could still feel what the emotions of the characters; words weren’t needed to tell you just how much was at stake in the fight for survival.
A Quiet Place 2 continues the story of the Abbotts as they make their way across the wasteland that has become the world they are in. Other survivors are discovered and new allies are made.
The trailer jumps right in on the action with Blunt’s character appealing to an unknown rescuer to help some of the survivors. His reply comes with a note of finality; the ones left aren’t worth saving.
The creatures are more vicious than ever and the odds are stacked against the survivors. It’s all the ingredients needed for a worthy sequel.
A Quiet Place 2 is written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmons, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy, and Djimon Hounsou.
