Barcelona are trying to close a deal for Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno, although it’s not the only option they have open as they seek a substitute for the injured Luis Suarez.
Suarez has been ruled out for four months after a knee operation and the club are looking to bring in a replacement but they are working within certain criteria.
They don’t have loads of money to throw at a deal, so they are looking at six-month loans with an option to buy in the summer.

Negotiations for Rodrigo have been ongoing after the player green-lighted the move. Barça are also willing to include a player on loan in the deal, either now or in the summer.
Sources at the Catalan club say it’s a complicated deal to do, but they’re pushing for it to happen.
Barça also explored deals for Aubameyang and Werner. However, their respective clubs, Arsenal and RB Leipzig, quickly made it clear they would not be selling the strikers this month.
Another name on the table is Ben Yedder, a player who is liked by many at the club.
At the moment, though, Rodrigo is the most likely to come, even if it’s not clear how open Valencia are to doing a deal. Peter Lim will have the final say.
