Godmothered, an upcoming comedy film which will air on Disney +, will feature actresses Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell in starring roles.
Fisher was of the ensemble cast of Now You See Me (2013) while Bell had a role in the 2019 sitcom Bless the Harts. Both of them have been signed to the Disney + original film directed by Sharon McGuire, with a script from Melissa Stack.
The official synopsis for Godmothered reads:
The story tells of a young and unskilled fairy godmother (Bell) that ventures out on her own to prove her worth by tracking down a young girl whose request for help was ignored. What she discovers is that the girl has now become a grown woman (Fisher) in need of something very different than a Prince Charming.
The plot is a new perspective on a classic story and should be a welcome addition to Disney’s increasing content on its streaming platform.
Production on Godmothered is set to begin in Boston in the latter part of the month.
