Jillian Michaels, Lizzo

Jillian Michaels is an American personal trainer and businesswoman was slammed by fans over are a comment she made about Lizzo who is an American singer-songwriter and rapper.

The trainer in a chat about her life and career on Wednesday with Buzzfeed News’ digital series AM to DM ended up discussing Lizzo’s appearance.

She said;

“Why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter? Why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause it isn’t going to be awesome if she gets diabetes,”

 “I’m just being honest. I love her music, my kid loves her music, but there’s never a moment when I’m like, ‘I’m so glad she’s overweight.’ Why do I even care? Why is it my job to care about her weight?”

This comment didn’t get well with some fans as they believe she was body-shaming her, It’s more than just fans as well. Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who has been a major advocate for self-acceptance and self-love, took to her Twitter to call out the trainer for her ideas about health and body type.

She tweeted;

“Just saying… MY WHOLE DAMN THIN FAMILY HAS DIABETES AND HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND PROBLEMS WITH OUR JOINTS,”

Why is This woman acting like she’s an MRI? Stop concern-trolling fat people and get in the bin.”

Jillian then replies to the comments she got by saying;

“As I’ve stated repeatedly, we are all beautiful, worthy and equally deserving. I also feel strongly that we love ourselves enough to acknowledge there are serious health consequences that come with obesity—heart disease, diabetes, cancer to name only a few. I would never wish these for ANYONE and I would hope we prioritize our health because we LOVE ourselves and our bodies.

Lizzo on the other hand as not said a word but earlier announced she would be leaving twitter soon.
