SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is an award-winning film released in 1991

CBS is set to produce Clarice, a crime drama series set after the events of The Silence of the Lambs movie.

Directed by Jonathan Demme and released in 1991, Silence of the Lambs is a psychological thriller about the story of Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) who finds herself seeking the help of the imprisoned serial killer Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) to track down a homicidal maniac who skins his the corpses of his female victims.

Silence of the Lambs got critical acclaim with many singling out the performances of Foster and Hopkins and the film also five Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay).

The character of Clarice is now getting her story continued in a tale set in 1993, a year after the happenings in the original film. She returns to the field to chase some of the most perverse criminals and killers while navigating the political world of Washington D.C.
