We can’t get enough of superheroes and a new addition is coming our way.
Brec Bassinger stars as Courtney Whitmore, a high school student who is not happy with her family’s relocation. Her relationship with her stepdad is not as smooth as it should be and life just seems to be unfair to her.
Everything changes when she stumbles upon a powerful cosmic staff used by the superhero Starman. Imbuing her with powers, Courtney adopts the alter ego ‘Stargirl’ and begins her crime-fighting adventures.
The upcoming series is based on the DC Comics character of the same name created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder and will premiere in spring 2020 on DC Universe and The CW.
The trailer is fascinating but there should be more as we already have a lot of that in shows like The Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow. How it will differentiate itself from others before it while winning fans over is what should be the aim.
With the rising demand for more and more female-led projects on the big screen, Stargirl should do well as the latest in the long line of female superheroes.
