A reporter risks her very life as she investigates a case that puts her as the main target in the trailer for Netflix’s political thriller The Last Thing He Wanted.
Set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2020, the film stars Anne Hathaway as a woman whose quest to break a story involving her dying her father leads her into a dangerous mission in a remote area.
Touted as a reporter with a moral compass, Elena (Hathaway) goes on a trail of a man who ‘shows up at the end of something, not at the beginning’. But before long, she is faced with making choices that hinge on her very survival.
Ben Affleck’s presence here means we are in for a thrilling encounter and Rosie Perez hops along for the ride as a lady who helps Hathaway’s character.
The Last Thing He Wanted is directed by Dee Rees based on the book of the same name by Joan Didion, with a screenplay from Rees and Marco Villalobos.
