The Norse god of thunder is set to return to the big screen soon as production for the upcoming fourth movie is scheduled to begin in August.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see the return of Chris Hemsworth in the title role and Taika Waititi resuming his position as the film’s director.
The ruler of Asgard gave up his position to Valkyrie in Avengers: Endgame and zoomed off into space with the Guardians, having earned their trust and friendship.
Thor: Ragnarok revitalized the franchise and the reason was Waititi’s unique take on the hammer-wielding superhero. We witnessed Thor getting his comic side explored and his powers significantly getting an upgrade as well.
Waititi has been busy with other projects, having directed the Golden Globe-nominated Jojo Rabbit and the final episode of The Mandalorian. His return to the MCU will feature the use of Australia as a location and it is hoped that the wildfires in the area would have been extinguished by the time shooting starts.
Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Taika Waititi, and Tessa Thompson.
