Contrary to recent reports making the rounds that Disney’s upcoming Planet of the Apes will be a reboot, the director of the movie Wes Ball has clarified that it will continue the legacy of the Ape leader Caesar.
Andy Serkis provided his voice and motion-capture performance for the role of Caesar and the three movies were well-received, garnering favorable reviews and also making money commercially.
The Ape leader was charismatic and was a well-layered character whose every decision hinged on the survival of his species.
Taking to Twitter, Wes Ball (who has been hired to helm the upcoming movie for Disney) stated that he wouldn’t ruin the surprises for fans but the legacy of Caesar will continue.
It’s never been easier for film journalists to actually get in touch with the actual people who actually know… but maybe it’s the point to NOT fact-check these days?
Regardless. Don’t worry. I won’t ruin the surprises, but it’s safe to say Caesar’s legacy will continue…?
