Gugu Mbatha-Raw Joins Tom Hiddleston’s ‘Loki’ Series

English actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw has been added to the cast of Disney’s Loki series.

As is typical with Disney productions, plot details of Loki are being kept secret and what we are sure of at this point is that Tom Hiddleston is returning to play the character last seen in Avengers: Infinity War.

How Marvel is bringing back Loki is what we have no clue about since he was killed by Thanos (Josh Brolin). The teaser trailer which was aired at the Superbowl Halftime Show revealed the god of mischief in shackles, but that just poses more unanswered questions.

Production on the upcoming series has only just begun and Deadline reports that Gugu Mbatha-Raw (A Wrinkle in Time) has joined the cast.

The character she is set to play hasn’t been revealed but it is believed to be an important role. Apart from A Wrinkle in Time, she has also appeared in another Disney film, the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast.

As an actress who has shown range, Mbatha-Raw’s casting alongside Hiddleston is a plus for the Disney + series as its streaming content is on the rise.

Her brief but memorable performance in the film Farming showed just how much depth she can bring to a character, so Loki series has got to be something with potential greatness.
