Actress Rachel McAdams will not be part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The petite star played a fellow surgeon and close confidant of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange in the 2016 movie and Variety has confirmed that she will not be reprising the role.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness should see the mystic superhero delve deeper in the world of the metaphysical and that means that his connection to his former life (of which McAdams’ character plays a prominent part) may be severed finally.
Doctor Strange had a sort of emotional connection to the kind-hearted nurse in the first film and he had even wanted more than ordinary friendship from her but she had declined.
McAdams’ Christine Palmer had been on hand to save his life in his tangle with some formidable foes which led to him having to open a portal to the hospital where he worked for emergency treatment.
It comes as a disappointment that Palmer will be absent from the sequel as the good doctor needs all the friends he can get as he continues to protect the world from evil forces.
Marvel had better have a good reason for the actress’ absence and compensate fans with something worthwhile when the film arrives in movie theaters.
