Robert Pattinson will star alongside Margaret Qualley in the film Stars at Noon.
According to Variety, A24 has bought the North American rights to the thriller and Claire Denis will direct with a screenplay by Lea Mysius and Andrew Litvack.
The movie is based on the 1986 novel by Denis Johnson, and the acquisition deal was announced yesterday.
Set during the Nicaraguan Revolution in 1984, Stars at Noon focuses on a mysterious English businessman and a headstrong American journalist who begin a passionate romance.
Things begin to escalate in the region and the couple attempt to escape, with only each other to trust.
It is assumed that Pattinson and Qualley will portray the lovers. The Twilight actor fits the character description of the English businessman perfectly.
Pattinson is presently shooting the Matt Reeves-directed DC movie The Batman. Qualley was featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
