Netflix is very close to securing a world pre-sales buy for The Good Nurse which will star Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain.
The deal is in the region of $25 million and the upcoming film is based on the book by Charles Graeber, with a script from Krysty Wilson-Cairns (who wrote the script for 1917).
It will be directed by Tobias Lindholm, who is set to make his English Language feature film directing debut. Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa will be producing with FilmNation, which will be in charge of sales.
The Good Curse tells the story of the pursuit and capture of Charlie Cullen, a nurse regarded as one of the most prolific killers in human history.
Called ‘Angel of Death’, Cullen was a married man (and also a father) who was seen as responsible caretaker but his innate desire and compulsion to take life led to the death of 300 patients in a period of 16 years, spread across nine hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Redmayne will play Cullen and Chastain will portray the nurse who risked her job and family’s safety to help catch him, thus ending the killing spree
The two leads are among the most talented actors of their time so fans can expect something unique when the film arrives.
