A boy becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, and his parents must find out the truth in Defending Jacob.
Based on The New York Times bestseller, Defending Jacob is an upcoming miniseries from Apple TV +. It stars Chris Evans and Michelle Dockery as the parents of the boy (Jaeden Martell).
Evans is Andy Barber, a man who is shocked when he learns that the prints on a murder victim match those of his teenage son.
Even worse is the fact that a child of Jacob’s age charged with first-degree murder is tried as an adult. But Jacob swears that he is innocent.
As more revelations come to light, Andy and his wife Laurie realize that they may not have known their son as well as they thought.
As the spotlight is beamed on the Barber family, Andy is forced to take matters into his hands, going beyond the boundaries he ought not to cross and damning the consequences.
In trying to protect his son, Andy is forced to do things that could see the long arms of the law catch up with him. But he doesn’t care because he is determined to find the answers himself.
Defending Jacob also stars Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Sakina Jaffrey, Betty Gabriel, and J.K. Simmons. It will premiere on April 24, 2020.
