Regina Hall will also be an executive producer

Regina Hall is best known for her multiple leading roles in movies like Girls Trips (2017), Little (2019), and Shaft (2019). She was the first African American to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress.

Master has been described as a heightened supernatural thriller and a spine-chilling story. It is written and directed by Mariama Diallo.

The plot is reportedly about:

“Three black women who strive to find their place at the celebrated Ancaster College, an elite university in New England. The school was built on the site of a Salem-era gallows hill and the ghostly legacies of Puritan-era persecution haunt the campus in an increasingly supernatural fashion. The plot examines how each of these women will — or won’t — survive in this space of privilege.”

Acting alongside Hall in the movie is Zoe Renee and Amber Gray. Hall will executive produce with Terence Nance, Andrea Roa, Brad Becker-Parton, and Joshua Astrachan through their company Animal Kingdom.

“Having the support of Amazon Studios, who rallied behind the film from the very beginning, has been so incredibly valuable every step of the way. I can’t wait for this unique and horrific vision to reach our screens.”
