The Flash star Grant Gustin will star in Operation Blue Eyes, a film in which he will portray the infamous character of Barry Keenan, the man who orchestrated the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr. in 1963.
It comes as a coincidence that Gustin who is known for starring in the CW series as Barry Allen/The Flash will now play another Barry who is not a good guy.
Joe Mantegna, who features on the television series Criminal Minds, will direct the indie movie from a screenplay by Bradley Barth and Joseph Nasser. Production is expected to begin in May 2020.
Set in December 1963, the plot of Operation Blue Eyes will bring to the fore the events which led to the Frank Sinatra’s kidnap, beginning with him as a struggling lounge singer, still in his father’s shadow.
A young wannabe stock tycoon named Barry Keenan came up with a harebrained scheme to kidnap Sinatra Jr. and hold him for a ransom of $240,000.
Barry succeeded in taking the singer at gunpoint but after that, it’s one badly improvised move after another, until Barry bungled his way into prison.
Grant Gustin is also a singer who aside from being easily recognized for playing the DC Comics speedster, is known for the role of Sebastian Smythe on the Fox series Glee.
