Fast & Furious actor Vin Diesel has revealed that his daughter was the one who suggested that rapper Cardi B be included in the ninth film.
Diesel spoke on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he said that his 4-year-old daughter Pauline (named after his late co-star and longtime friend Paul Walker) told him that Cardi B should be a part of F9: The Fast Saga.
“My daughter wanted a piece of casting to happen, so Cardi B is in it,” Vin told host Jimmy Kimmel. “I said, ‘That’s a great idea’ as she’s listening to ‘I Like It…'”
After disclosing how he shared the idea with the writers, Diesel was asked by Jimmy if there had been other A-list celebrities that asked him to be involved in the upcoming film and the movie star replied:
“Strange enough—20 years ago, you wouldn’t have thought this—but now we do have Oscar winners all asking to be a part of the film. It’s bizarre.”
The bald actor stated that he was excited to work with new cast members John Cena and Helen Mirren, as well as the returning Charlize Theron.
Diesel also assured the TV host that there were more casting surprises in store for fans.
“I may give away a little too much if I—yeah, because there are some secrets that have to be kept to the vest for the audience because I belong to them.”
