Samuel Eto’o Fils has donated relief materials to 100,000 Cameroonians amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The African football legend made the donation to the people in his hometown of Douala in Cameroon.
Eto’o gave food items, soaps, sanitizers, and protective equipment in Douala as other cities like Buea, Yaounde and Baffoussam will also be beneficiaries of the former sportsman’s initiative.
The donated materials will be given to 100,000 people in the country, and an extra 50,000 protective face masks will also be donated to taxi drivers in the nation.
A part of Eto’o’s foundation statement reads:
“The Samuel Eto’o Foundation wishes to be precise that this action aims to further support to Cameroonian citizens from a health perspective than food. The primary objective is to slow the progress of the pandemic.”
The former Barcelona FC player posted a picture of relief materials being distributed on his Instagram page, with the caption, ‘I will give my life to continue to serve you. Thank you, my team.’
