Jason Momoa has compared the character he plays in the upcoming movie ‘Dune’ to that of Han Solo from the ‘Star Wars’ films.
The screen adaptation for ‘Dune’ is being helmed by filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, and will be split in two parts.
Based on the events in the 1965 novel, the film boasts an array of Hollywood’s finest, including Jason Momoa, Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, and others.
OduNews.com earlier gave fans a tease of what is to be expected with pictures from the set of the movie, and to further provide insight into what is in store for us, Momoa talked about his character Duncan Idaho on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
“I get to play this character Duncan Idaho, who’s kind of a master swordsman who’s made the right hand man to Duke Leto who is Oscar Isaac. He’s the first person to be sent out to land on Dune and that’s when I meet the character that Javier Bardem plays. I can’t believe I had a scene with Javier Bardem! It’s a pretty massive film and I get to be this little—he’s kind of the Han Solo-esque of the group. He’s this rogue warrior who protects Timothée Chalamet and serves Oscar Isaac.”
The ‘Aquaman’ star totally nailed the role of the DC hero and is expected to add his towering physique, charm and swagger to the character he plays in ‘Dune’.
