An adaptation of the action thriller audiobook Armored has been picked up by Michael Bay for Sony Pictures.
The audiobook is written by Mark Greaney and this marks the second film project that filmmaker Michael Bay is producing as OduNews.com earlier reported that he is behind the production of a pandemic movie titled Songbird.
The plot of Armored focuses on a high-risk security contractor who suffers from old wounds (physical and mental). He reluctantly takes a job working on a heavily-armed convoy shuttling UN delegates through Mexico’s ‘cartel country’.
High on the ‘Devil’s Spine’ of the Sierra Madre, the mission turns into a desperate struggle as a corrupt police, rival gangs and an enemy within all try to destroy the tiny motorcade before the peace talks come to fruition.
According to Deadline, the focus of the story might shift from Mexico and the cartels, but there are no details of where that might be at present.
Bay’s films aren’t particularly known for having great plots. But they do deliver on the action front.
