Tekashi 6ix9ine’s donation of thousands of dollars was rejected by a non-profit organization, No Kid Hungry.
According to a report from PEOPLE, the child-focused campaign stated that it is their policy to decline offers from donors “whose activities do not align with our mission and values.”
On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, Tekashi 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) wrote the following words on his Instagram handle:
During this pandemic, I understand we have nurses and frontline Hero’s who risk their lives daily to save others. But NEVER forget the children & families who depend on OUR PUBLIC schools for daily meals and nutrition to keep our future leaders growing to their best potential.
To every influencer out there REMEMBER if you are blessed GOD gave you that blessing not just for YOU but also TO HELP OTHERS ?? GOD FIRST.”
A spokesperson for No Kids Hungry told PEOPLE that the organization declined Tekashi’s offer because of its mission and values.
The spokesperson’s words:
We are grateful for Mr. Hernandez’s generous offer to donate to No Kid Hungry but we have informed his representatives that we have declined this donation,” the spokesperson says. “As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values.”
Tekashi is currently confined to his home following his release from federal custody due to the coronavirus pandemic. His transfer is a result of his asthma which puts him at a higher risk of contracting the deadly virus.
The hip hop star pleaded guilty to nine felony charges which include a variety of firearms offenses and admitting to his involvement in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
