Girl Who Filmed George Floyd Incident Facing Online Backlash

The young girl who recorded George Floyd’s demise at the hands of the Minneapolis cop has come under attack.

17-year-old Darnella Frazier spoke to TMZ, and she is traumatized by the incident which unfolded before her very eyes earlier this week.

Darnella revealed that a lot of people have criticized her for doing nothing other than shooting the officer using his knee to suffocate Floyd.

According to her, she is being called out by people on social media who say she should have stepped in and intervened. As a practical African-American teenager, she feels that wouldn’t have been the wise thing to do.

The critics are also accusing her of posting the video to chase clout, attention, or possibly a payoff, something she has vehemently denied.

Responding to the online backlash, Darnella wrote:

I’m doing it for clout?? For attention?? What?? To get paid?? Now y’all just sound dumb and ignorant!! I don’t expect anyone who wasn’t placed in my position to understand why and how I feel the way I do!! MIND YOU, I am a minor! 17 years old. Of course I’m not about to fight off a cop. I’m SCARED. WTF. I don’t give two fu*ks about what y’all would have did because y’all there?? NO.

Fighting would’ve got someone else killed or in the same position George (may he Rest in Peace) was in! If it wasn’t for me 4 cops would have still had their jobs, causing other problems. My video went worldwide for everyone to see and know!! His family was reached out to!

The police most definitely would have swept it under the rug with a cover story. Instead of bashing me, THANK ME! Because that could’ve been one of your loved ones and you would want to see the truth as well. Anyone with something negative to say pls block me. I’m not forcing you to watch me.”

Darnella’s mother says her daughter was simply making a store run and never should have experienced what happened to Floyd and its nasty aftermath.

The parent is concerned about going forward as her daughter already suffers from social anxiety. However, she believes Darnella was where she needed to be at the time in order to capture the tragic event and share it with the world.
