A fuel tanker crash on Otedola bridge has killed one person and has left many others injured, odunews.com can confirm.
The accident which occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway involved a fuel-laden tanker and a Mazda bus.
“A tanker fully loaded failed break and ram into an inter-state Mazda bus. Six people critically injured including a boy of about 9years old, one woman died and the injured have been taken to the hospital while the dead body of the woman has been taken to the mortuary”, a source told GUARDIAN.
The Lagos State Traffic Monitoring Agency (LASTMAN) confirmed the accident.
Reacting through its twitter handle, LASTMA said: “Fatal accident on Otedola Bridge inward Berger involving a tanker and a Mazda bus. All relevant emergency agencies alerted.
“Traffic backlog building up beyond Secretariat.”
“Preliminary reports confirm that a Golf car was also involved in the crash. No casualties from the car.
“One passenger from the bus confirmed dead with seven others injured.”
