Sweet Tooth is based on a DC Vertigo comic book series from Jeff Lemire. It ran for 40 issues from 2009-2013, and the story follows Gus (part boy part deer) who leaves his forest habitation to discover the world outside has been destroyed by a cataclysmic occurrence.

Gus decides to join a group of misfits (made up of humans and fellow animal children hybrids) in order to find answers about this new world and his origins.
