Former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is now the proud father of a baby girl with longtime girlfriend, Kasi Bennett.
PEOPLE reports that the eight-time Olympic gold medalist and his partner are celebrating the milestone of being first-time parents.
According to the report, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement on social media yesterday, Monday, May 18, 2020, telling fans that the pair had become a family of three as they had just welcomed a baby girl into the world.
“Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl”, wrote Holness, uploading a picture of the former athlete.
Bolt and Bennett are yet to share the exciting news with the world, and the former first revealed that he and his girlfriend were expecting on January 23, with a photo of Bennett on the beach, dressed in a billowing gown that showed off her baby bump.
Bolt and Bennett (originally from Jamaica) have been in a relationship for almost seven years and had previously told PEOPLE that they were ready to start a family together.
