Canadian singer Justin Bieber shared a powerful post yesterday, speaking on he has been influenced by the black community and restating his commitment to fighting racial injustice.
Speaking in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, the 26-year-old artist been actively posting social injustice and racial inequality since the death of George Floyd.
Posting on Instagram on Saturday, 6 June, 2020, Bieber wrote:
I am inspired by black culture. I have benefitted off of black culture. My style, how I sing, dance, perform, and my fashion have all being influenced and inspired by black culture.
I am committed to using my platform from this day forward to learn, to speak up about racial injustice and systemic oppression, and to identify ways to be a part of much needed change.”
The singer was commended by several celebs for his statement, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, his manager Scooter Braun, Kenny Hamilton, and Sydney Park responding positively to his message.
